Two Plans to Meet Your Needs

For 30 years, travelers have trusted EA+ to get them home safely after a medical emergency. But today’s travelers face more than just health-related risks. Natural disasters, political unrest, and security threats can suddenly turn a trip unsafe, leaving travelers stranded, vulnerable, and unsure where to turn.

That’s why EA+ offers Expanded Evacuation, an added layer of security designed to help members get out of danger, whatever way necessary, and back home safely during more complex types of emergency situations.

For just $60 more per year, Expanded Evacuation extends your EA+ protection to include even more emergency situations. When the unexpected makes travel unsafe or dangerous, such as political unrest, civil instability, or a natural disaster that leaves your location uninhabitable, EA+ provides expert coordination and evacuation support at no cost to you.

When traveling away from home and outside of the United States
If your international destination becomes unsafe due to political instability, civil unrest, or other types of security threats, EA+ will arrange and provide transportation to remove you from the area to the nearest safe location, and then to your home, if needed.

If your current location has been impacted by a natural disaster, EA+ will make every effort to safely arrange and provide an evacuation from a secure departure point to a safe haven and then to your home, if necessary.

Expanded Evacuation steps in to get you out of danger in the event of earthquakes, wildfires, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, sudden snowstorms, rioting, military uprisings, nuclear accidents, and even acts of terrorism.

How It Works & Why It Matters

When a crisis strikes, knowing what to do and how to get out safely can feel overwhelming. Expanded Evacuation connects you with experienced, trusted professionals who work alongside local governments and security analysts to determine the quickest and safest evacuation plan.

Securing private transportation, chartering aircraft when commercial flights are grounded, or finding safe accommodations on short notice can cost tens of thousands of dollars, if those options are even available. But with Expanded Evacuation, EA+ handles the logistics, like arranging and providing your evacuation to a safe haven — all at no cost to you.

That’s why EA+ offers Extended Family, an add-on designed to help members ensure the same critical emergency services they rely on are available for loved ones when traveling together. Think of Extended Family as a way to sleep better at night, knowing you’ve taken care of everyone.

For just $80 per year, Extended Family broadens EA+’s most important protections to your parents, adult children and their spouses, grandchildren, and even brothers and sisters traveling with you. That means that, no matter who faces an emergency on the trip, your extended family members will have access to the support that helps them get the care they need, and home safely.

When traveling together, qualifying extended family members can receive:

Medical Evacuation to get them to an appropriate facility for treatment
Transportation Home when they are stable enough to return home.
Nurse Escort to accompany them and monitor their care during their trip home, if medically necessary.
Return of Traveling Companion one-way economy-class ticket
Return of Minor Children to get them home to family while their parent(s)/grandparent(s) are hospitalized
Return of Deceased Remains if they pass away while traveling
RV/Vehicle Return if their hospitalization leaves their vehicle stranded

Emergency Assistance Plus® (EA+®) is not insurance, it is a membership plan. This is only an outline of the plan’s features. Hospitalization (admitted as an inpatient) is a requirement to be eligible for some services. All services must be arranged and provided by EA+. Please read the EA+ Member Guide carefully to understand all the services available to you, as well as any rules and regulations. EA+ is only available to U.S. residents at this time. Washington state residents must be traveling more than 100 miles away from home to be eligible for EA+ services.
