Thank You For Saving Us

We were in Austin, Texas at a motel and were we were getting ready to pack up the car to return home, when my husband fell on the tile floor and injured his head. It appeared that blood was coming out of his ear, but my husband ignored my concerns. There was no way he could get on a plane like that, I thought, but he continued to prepare to leave. I called the motel to see if we could get someone to help us put our luggage in the car.

During the drive, he went right past the airport. I knew at that moment that something was definitely wrong. When I finally got signal on my cell, I called my son, but he didn’t answer. So, I called 9-1-1 and got my husband to pull over on the highway. I had no idea where we were, but then recalled a road we had just passed and they were able to get help to us. When the firemen got there, my husband would not open the door in the car. Finally, I had to pull the keys out of the ignition and it took 3 men to get him out of the car. They put him in the ambulance and I followed them to the trauma center.

My son called me back and I told him what was going on and he met me at the hospital.

My husband ended up being treated in the ICU for head trauma. We were told that he might not walk again or talk again. It was during COVID and the ICU nurse told us that the unit was full of COVID patients, so only 1 of us could go in. So, I chose to come back the next morning and let my son be with him.

That’s when I called EA+. I talked to EA+ several times during each day while my husband was hospitalized. After a few days, my husband was discharged from the hospital and allowed to fly back to Michigan. EA+ arranged and provided a nurse to escort my husband home because he would need to be monitored and on oxygen on the plane. The nurse picked us up at my son’s house and stayed with us all the way to our house in Michigan and took his vitals one last time.

I tell people about our experience with your company and they can’t believe it. I tell them to absolutely get EA+. Thank you for saving us from going through the worst time we have ever had, you saved us.
