70% of Americans Miss Traveling, Studies Report

Published on May 8th, 2020

Santa Barbara, CA –  According to a recent study, 70% of Americans miss traveling due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. However, nine in ten Americans surveyed say they plan to approach future travel plans carefully and with caution. With the future of travel looking uncertain many travelers are thinking of alternative trips to plan once restrictions are lifted.

It will not be a simple return to pre-pandemic sentiments and behaviors with nearly 40% of American travelers saying they will change the types of destinations they choose to visit. Many say they will trade crowded international destinations for more rural, closer to home extended weekend trips. Cruising vacations are expected to be the least popular method of travel with only 6% of respondents reporting they’d be willing to take a cruise later this year.

Precautions and safe guards should still be considered while planning your first trip after the COVID-19 pandemic. A travel assistance membership, like Emergency Assistance Plus (EA+), can provide extra protection and security on any trip you take away from home, no matter domestic or international. With services including Medical Evacuation, to get you to a more appropriate hospital; Transportation Home once you’ve fully recovered; and even RV/Vehicle Return if your emergency renders you unable to drive your vehicle home, you and your family can travel confidently on any trip you take for the full year.

EA+ is offered by AGIA, Inc., a leading provider of emergency travel protection and rescue and security products. Each year, EA+ protects hundreds of thousands of members in the event of medical emergencies or security situations.
